Hey everyone! What a night it was in Ahmedabad! The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 truly shone brightly on October 11, 2025. Bollywood’s biggest bash returned to celebrate the very best! We honored amazing performances, brilliant filmmaking, incredible storytelling, and technical excellence across the Hindi film industry. This year’s event in Gujarat was an absolute spectacular success, making history in our vibrant city!
The grand show, officially known as the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 With Gujarat Tourism, took place at the stunning EKA Arena in Ahmedabad. It was a night filled with unforgettable Filmfare moments from start to finish!

The Hosts, The Stars, The Glamour!
Imagine this: The stage was lit up, and guess who greeted us? The one and only Shah Rukh Khan host, alongside the witty Karan Johar host and the energetic Maniesh Paul host! What a trio! They kept the audience laughing and entertained all night long.
The red carpet arrivals were, as expected, pure glamour. Every star looked incredible. Then came the performances! We saw incredible acts from Akshay Kumar performance and Ananya Panday performance, among many others. The entire evening was a celebration of Hindi cinema’s vibrant spirit. The industry’s top talents were truly honoured with the coveted Black Lady. This iconic trophy is a symbol of prestige and achievement in Indian cinema.

The Leading Stars: Best Actor & Best Actress
The acting categories were super exciting!
BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE (MALE) went to ABHISHEK BACHCHAN for his powerful role in “I WANT TO TALK.” He shared the win with KARTIK AARYAN, who was brilliant in “CHANDU CHAMPION.” Both delivered amazing performances!
For BEST ACTOR (CRITICS’), the talented RAJKUMMAR RAO took home the award for “SRIKANTH.”
The BEST ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE (FEMALE) award was won by the phenomenal ALIA BHATT for “JIGRA”. With this win, she broke Nutan and Kajols record of most Filmfare Awards for Best Female lead role. Now, Alia Bhatt holds a record for the most no of Best Actress Filmfare award wins. She has 6 Best Actress trophies. Earlier, she won for Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gully Boy, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This is also her 3rd win in a row. She truly shone!
And for BEST ACTRESS (CRITICS’), a huge congratulations to PRATIBHA RANTA for her outstanding work in LAAPATAA LADIES!

Best Film Winner: “LAAPATAA LADIES” Reigns Supreme!
What a fantastic win! LAAPATAA LADIES was crowned the Best Film winner. This movie, directed by the brilliant KIRAN RAO, also earned her the BEST DIRECTOR award. Her storytelling truly captured hearts. For critics, I WANT TO TALK by Shoojit Sircar won BEST FILM (CRITICS’). Both films showcased incredible stories and filmmaking!

BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE (MALE): RAVI KISHAN for LAAPATAA LADIES. He was just brilliant!
BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE (FEMALE): CHHAYA KADAM for LAAPATAA LADIES. Another well-deserved win for the film!
BEST MUSIC ALBUM: RAM SAMPATH for LAAPATAA LADIES. The music was simply soulful.
BEST LYRICS: PRASHANT PANDEY for “SAJNI” from LAAPATAA LADIES. Such beautiful words!
BEST PLAYBACK SINGER (MALE): ARIJIT SINGH for “SAJNI” from LAAPATAA LADIES. Arijit’s voice always creates magic!
BEST PLAYBACK SINGER (FEMALE): MADHUBANTI BAGCHI for “AAJ KI RAAT” from “STREE 2.” What a voice!

Honouring Legends: Special Awards & Tributes
This year’s Filmfare moments included some truly emotional tributes. The legendary ZEENAT AMAN received the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, a truly well-deserved honour for her incredible career. The late SHYAM BENEGAL was also honored posthumously, a fitting tribute to his cinematic genius.
The R D BURMAN AWARD FOR UPCOMING TALENT IN MUSIC went to ACHINT THAKKAR for his amazing work in “JIGRA” and “MR. & MRS. MAHI.” What a promising talent!
There was also a very special segment celebrating the 50 YEARS OF SHOLAY – what an iconic film! Filmfare also paid heartfelt tribute to legends who have shaped decades of Indian cinema, celebrating their immense contributions. This segment was a beautiful homage to timeless stars whose talent and dedication have left an indelible mark. This special list of awardees included:
